Highlands-Cashiers Real Estate Market Update

Our latest comparison of 2026 and 2025 year-to-date closed sales, through October 13th, provides an encouraging look at the market. Combined sales in Highlands and Cashiers increased 12.6%, while total sold volume rose 46%, from approximately $363 million to nearly $530 million. The average sold price also increased significantly, from $1.82 million to $2.36 million.

Both Highlands and Cashiers have experienced strong growth, although in different ways. Highlands recorded a 22.1% increase in closed sales, along with a 24.8% rise in average sold price. In Cashiers, the number of closed sales remained steady, but the average sold price increased nearly 40%. These figures highlight the strength of our market and continued interest in exceptional properties across the Plateau.

Holiday Market at The Bascom | Highlands, NC | Opens Saturday, October 31 at 10:00am – Continues through December 26

The holiday season begins at The Bascom with its annual Holiday Market, featuring handcrafted gifts and original works by local and regional artists. From unique artwork to handmade treasures, the market offers a wonderful opportunity to find something special while supporting the talented artists who contribute so much to our community.
